5 forum deeds- For neater forums

Image hosted by Photobucket.comAfter a series of short forum-talk articles, it’s time for a short & effective one. I was always a fan of lists, in fact my most popular post was a list and another reason for doing it as a list is that many people tend to skip long articles, they like to see it all summed up, without too many interpretations. Let’s try, shall we?

These five forum deeds are written by me, and they especially talk about keeping your forum neat & clean, so it can be browsed easily by your members & guests (which are potential members):

1.Work on asthetics: Don’t load up your index with too many of these trendy images, they get annoying if there are too many. Make sure your index isn’t stuffed with external links.
2.10 Minutes of profit: Invest 10 minutes, each day to add new content to your forum, if you’re topic specified add something connected, if you’re general you can add interesting news and content according to your boards. you might not see the difference right away, but your forum will benefit alot out of this.
3.5 Minutes of purification:Take no more than 5 minutes everyday to clean up the mess you have around: delete your old PMs, delete old/irrelevant topics & keep track of spam.
4.Highlight your sole stuff: Add links to features, usergroup threads, contests & important lists to your index. (see it in action at Pink Imoen & Tech Twister)
5.Official threads & announcments: When you post something about a new usergroup, a contest, feature, project, mod anything official…make it clear, clean & attractive. clear because you want them to understand, clean because you want them to want to understand, and attractive is to even get them to read it.(Example @ TT)

Hope you enjoyed that, don’t forget to visit our growing list here and submit your own forum, thank to Pink Imoen for sponsoring forum contultation, and of course visit Tech Twister for more info on how to become a better admin!

    Very nice mate.

And most of them I do in my own Forums such as numbers 3, 1 and 5. I’m not so sure about number 4 and number 2 I don’t do alot as I’m onto my 7th Forums (other 6 stuffed up) so I add practically everything there from my memory.

Hey JK! Nice to see you here :)

    Well, 2 & 4 are pretty much a bonus, a pretty big bonus ;)

Why don’t you add your forum to our list? it’s at the end of this post

Thanks for your input Shadow, as a Tech Twister member, you can help build our forum commandments that will be posted here, all of those who contributed for it will get a link to the forum, so it’s gonna be pretty fancy.

Check it out in the forumer usergroup @ http://techtwister.net.tc

Okay, I’ll leave my Forum just note that you must join to view all Boards (its a Clan for an MMORPG I play).
